I am excited to be a 5^th grade teacher at Oakdale this year. I have been teaching for 30 years, and I have taught grades Kdg-8th. The first 14 years of my career were spent teaching in a self-contained special education setting. I have a master's degree in special education from California State University, Bakersfield and a master's degree in administration from the University of Phoenix.  Language Arts is my passion, and I can't wait to share my love of reading with my students.

 

I have two grown children who are 32 and 30. My three adorable Godchildren will be attending Oakdale this year. David and Harley will be in first grade. They are twins. Their older sister, Peyton, will be in 5^th grade. I am hoping to start a Girls on the Run team at Oakdale and would love to see lots of girls sign up this year. I am a HUGE football fan. I cheer for the Florida Gators and the Green Bay Packers. That may seem odd, but my dad is retired Air Force, so we moved a lot when I was younger. Those are the two teams that have stuck. 🙂 My favorite poets are Tupac and Langston Hughes, and my favorite author is Sarwat Chadda. I am looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year!
